Financial conference and information exhibition

A financial conference and information exhibition were held in Karnali Province on February 9 and 10, organized by Media International Nepal to promote financial literacy. Madhav Nirdosh, chairman of Media International, highlighted that this was the first such event in Karnali Province, emphasizing its direct connection to the economy and citizens’ daily lives. The event featured informational stalls from various banks and financial institutions, allowing attendees to learn about banking accounts, loans, interest rates, and insurance processes.
The two-day program included interactive sessions on topics such as Karnali’s development, entrepreneurship, banking and financial investment, and financial access. Informational stalls were set up by the Nepal Securities Board, Insurance Committee, Youth Self-Employment Fund, local government, and various banks and financial institutions. Key speakers included Chief Minister Jivan Bahadur Shahi, Vinay Sigdel from Nepal Rastra Bank, Dinesh Lal Karn from the Insurance Committee, and Bishwa Mohan Adhikari from the Youth Self-Employment Fund. The conference was successful, contributing to financial awakening in the region, and was promoted by the Nepal Rastra Bank. Other speakers included Kavi Phuyal (IME Life Insurance), Sanchit Bajracharya (Prabhu Insurance), Kusham Lama (Prabhu Technology), Yuwaraj Thapa, and Keshav Acharya, all emphasizing the conference’s significance for financial literacy.
